Wolf Beast – Enemy Character Design

A stylized wolf-beast enemy designed for a 2D action or side-scrolling game. The character combines bestial anatomy with exaggerated proportions to create a readable, threatening silhouette suitable for fast-paced gameplay.

The design process began with loose line construction to explore posture, weight, and aggression. Overlapping sketch lines were used intentionally to test limb reach, claw shape, and balance before committing to final line work. This approach ensured the character would support clear attack animations and readable hit areas.

The final coloured version emphasizes contrast between dark fur and lighter bone-like elements, drawing attention to key gameplay features such as claws, head, and chest. Spiked fur and forward-leaning posture reinforce the creature’s hostile nature while maintaining animation-friendly shapes for walk, attack, and idle cycles.

This design prioritizes gameplay readability, animation feasibility, and visual clarity over realism, making it suitable for enemy reuse and variation within a game system.
