This research paper examines how perceived fairness in monetisation systems affects player retention and daily active users in free-to-play games. By analysing common monetisation models such as microtransactions, loot boxes, and pay-to-win mechanics, the study explores how ethical design choices influence player trust, engagement, and long-term sustainability. The paper highlights the balance between profitability and player satisfaction in modern game design.
This literature review explores how multiplayer games have evolved from simple shared play experiences into large-scale social platforms. The paper examines how game modes, technological platforms, and online infrastructure shape player interaction, community formation, and social behaviour within multiplayer spaces.
The research highlights the dual role of multiplayer games as both technological systems and social environments, addressing topics such as cooperation, competition, accessibility, toxic behaviour, and future trends in online play.
